Practical Life   Sensorial

Through the training of Practical Life, children learn to care of themselves, and their environment. They also learn social graces, and how to control their fine and gross muscles, developing eye-hand coordination.

The sensorial area serves as tools for development.  Children build cognitive efficiency, and learn to order and classify impressions by touching, seeing, smelling, tasting, listening and exploring the physical properties of their environment.

Language   Cultural

In the Montessori classroom the child is guided towards reading through a "Phonetic method".

Here the child is taken on a learning experience covering topics involving the earth, its people, customs, culture, art and everything in it.

Mathematics

The mathematical materials help the child learn and understand mathematical concepts by manipulating concrete materials.  This work gives the child a solid foundation and understanding of basic principles as well as prepares him/her abstract thinking.
